Spiced Golden Milk & Hemp Hearts Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

Makes 1 smoothie

Ingredients

1 Banana, very ripe, peeled

½ medium Carrot, peeled, chopped

250 mL (1 cup) choice of milk such as 2% white, oat and/or coconut

2 mL (1/2 tsp) Turmeric, ground

2 mL (1/2 tsp) Fresh Ginger, ground

2 mL (1/2 tsp) Cinnamon, ground

Pinch Black Pepper, ground

30 mL (2 Tbsp) Hemp Hearts

Ice as needed

PREPARATION

  1. In a blender, mix all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Place in cup. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon.

Chef Note:
Substitute fresh ginger for ground ginger
Use a minimum of 60 mL (1/4 cup) milk (Suggested canned coconut).
